TExES Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities Pre-Test

Obtaining information about pre-tests and certification tests is the responsibility of the student!

The information below applies to all students still in their certification program. Students who have completed their certification program do not have to meet pre-requisites.

ALL STUDENTS MUST TAKE THE PPR PRE-TEST.

Students seeking approval to test for any pedagogy examination must first complete a PPR Pre-test and conduct an analysis of their score report.

PPR pre-test levels are EC-4; 4 - 8, 8 - 12 or EC-12.

Students must take the PPR pre-test level that matches their certification level.

Students must then conduct an analysis of their score report. The analysis allows you the opportunity to read through the questions along with your score report to address strengths and weaknesses.

Field Based students conduct their anaylsis in Field Based classes.

All other students make an appointment with the State Testing Coordinator to conduct their analysis. Appointments are made the morning the PPR pre-test is given. Appointments are usually scheduled for the following week and meet in the State Testing Coordinator's office, FC 201Q.

Pre-test booklets are shredded two weeks after the pre-test administration, so the analysis of score report must be completed quickly or the student will be required to re-test.

Students must register for PPR pre-tests (unless you are currently a student taking Field Based classes.)

Undergraduates take the PPR pre-test during their Field Based coursework.

Post BACs and MACS: Eligibility for the PPR pre-test requires enrollment in or completion of EDCI 5308 for 8th -12th grade certification students, or EDCI 5315 or EDCI 5316 or EDCI 5317 for EC-4th or 4-8th grade certification students.

Students still in their certification program may not request to take the state PPR until the PPR pre-test and anlysis has been completed.
