WHO HAVE OBTAINED AN UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE FROM ANOTHER UNIVERSITY
AND ARE ATTENDING TAMUCC FOR CERTIFICATION COURSEWORK (POST BAC)
Obtaining
information about pre-tests and certification tests is the responsibility
of the student!

Please
note the state definition of a Post BAC:
A
student who obtained an undergraduate degree from another university
who is attending TAMUCC for certification coursework
Required
exams are listed on your certification plan.
Students
still in their certification program must meet all pre-requisites
in order to be eligible to take state certification examinations.
Content
Exam
TAMUCC
may allow Post BAC students as defined above to test in their
content area one time without any pre-requisites if they
are currently enrolled in certification courses at TAMUCC. This
policy is stated on all Post BAC certification plans. Contact
Mr. Scott Simmons (825-2433) for information.
Approval
to test is
required from the content area program coordinator and TAR automatically
generates this approval request via email.
If
the student fails the content test, s/he must take course work
as required by the Program Coordinator of that particular content
area.
Students
submit TExES requests via TAR.
PPR
Exam
All
students still in their certification program must take the PPR
Pre-test and conduct an analysis of score report to be eligible
for the state PPR exam.
Eligibility
for the PPR pre-test requires enrollment in or completion of EDCI
5308 for 8th -12th grade certification students, or EDCI 5315
or EDCI 5316 or EDCI 5317 for EC-4th or 4-8th grade certification
students.
Students
submit TExES requests for a PPR via TAR once the PPR pre-test
and analysis have been completed. .
