Students working toward a Master’s Degree and Certification

Obtaining information about pre-tests and certification tests is the responsibility of the student!

Required exams are listed on your certification plan.

Students in their certification program must meet all pre-requisites in order to be eligible to take state certification examinations. MAC students who have met all certification requirements do not have to meet pre-requisites.

Students submit TExES requests electronically via TAR. TAR handles all approval requests via email.

Content Exam

Once a student is enrolled in courses, s/he may test in their content area. Approval to test is required from the content area program coordinator, but this approval request is generated automatically via TAR.

Approval for the TExES Generalist EC-4 content exam is granted by the State Testing Coordinator's office if the student is enrolled in or has taken EDCI 5315, EDCI 5316 or EDCI 5317.

PPR Exam

MAC students must take the PPR Pre-test and conduct an analysis of their score report to be eligible for the state PPR exam.

Eligibility for the PPR pre-test requires enrollment in or completion of EDCI 5308 for 8th -12th grade certification students, or EDCI 5315 or EDCI 5316 or EDCI 5317 for EC-4th or 4-8th grade certification students.

Students submit TExES requests electronically via TAR once the PPR pre-test and analysis has been completed.
