Computer Administered Tests (CATs)
Texas Examinations of Educator Standards (TExES)
General Information
The registration process for a CAT is the same as a PBT. Please see TAR Steps for Requesting and Registering.
CATs are available in Corpus Christi at the following sites:
Business Communication Solutions, 4646 Corona, Suite 215
Prometric Testing Center, 5810 South Staples
TAMUCC, CCH 206
Seating is limited. Once you begin the actual registration process, available CAT dates will be listed.
CATs cost $120.00.
A CAT session is five hours.
You can go back and change responses.
Note paper will be provided to you at the CAT site and then taken up when you are finished.
CAT scores will be available at www.texes.ets.org within seven days after the test date.
If you are unsuccessful on a CAT, you must wait 60 days before re-taking the same exam as a CAT, but you can take that same exam on the next available pbt date. PBTs have no restrictions, but CATs do. Example: if you take the PPR EC-4 as a CAT and fail it, you cannot re-take the PPR EC-4 as a CAT for 60 days but you can take the next available paper based PPR EC-4.
